WHAT ARE UV & ULTRA-THINK KEYPADS?

Nelson-Miller UV and Thin-Wall PC Injection Keypad solutions help minimize the keypad thickness and gives an advanced cosmetic appearance.  Using the latest process developments, we can meet the customer demands for ultra-thin and flexible keypad solutions, including high definition textures and a wide range of finishes.  We offer keypads with highly resistive UV coatings, metalization, brushed metal, aluminum, holographic, printing and phantom effects

UV KEYPAD SOLUTIONS

Versatile alternative technology eliminating the assembly associated with plastic keypads,rubber keypads and in mold decoration keypads. Multiple surface finishes, key heights (0.2 mm to 1.5 mm) and contours available.

UV KEYPAD FEATURES

The UV keypad consists of a UV resin layer printed onto the first surface of a foil substrate. The decoration is then added to the second surface of the foil. Textures such as brush line, sandblasting, spin lines, etc. can be easily added to the keypad to enhance the appearance and differentiate the design.

Design options include a high variety of colors, textures, detailed embossed features and finishes. It proves high-end decoration options, giving a cost effective advanced tech solution.

ULTRA-THIN (PC INJECTION) KEYPAD FEATURES

The ultra-thin keypad enables multiple colors and textures with metallic options and graphic effects. As such, it's a low cost alternative to metal keypads, without metal technical drawback.

BACKLIGHTING YOUR UV OR ULTRA-THIN KEYPAD APPLICATION

If you would like to backlight your application, the construction would incorporate either light guides or LEDs for uniform lighting.  Other options for backlighting are fiber optic backlighting and EL backlighting.  Depending on the requirements of your application such as thickness preference, shape, environmental exposure, and other unique specifications, the backlighting options would vary and be selected specifically to fit the function of your device.  Using the latest LED powered lighting can reduce cost and reduce power used by a device.  Since many devices today are portable, this backlighting solution is more relevant than ever.

A variety of applications that use backlighting solutions are: remote controls, laboratory equipment, airplane dashboards, medical devices in dimly lit operating rooms, consumer appliances, such as coffee makers and microwaves, laptop keyboards, and many other applications that we all come in contact with daily or sporadically.
