5-WIRE RESISTIVE TOUCH SCREENS

WHAT ARE 5-WIRE RESISTIVE TOUCH SCREENS?

Nelson-Miller’s 5-wire resistive technology is built with the harshest environments in mind and is sure to excel in durability, reliability, and overall product life. Built to withstand environmental conditions ranging from liquid and chemical spills, to liquid splashes and heat, our resistive touch screens are among the most contamination-resistant technologies available on the market.

Similar to the 4-wire touch screen technology, 5-wire resistive touch screens consist of a conductive glass bottom layer and conductive top film layer. Although the two are very similar, the core difference between the two is, in the 5-wire construction, all the electrodes are on the bottom layer and the top layer acts as a voltage-measuring probe. Due to this unique structure, 5-wire resistive touch screens may still work properly even if the top layer is slightly scratched or damaged by environmental damage and daily wear and tear.

Nelson-Miller’s 5-wire resistive touch panels offer everything you’d expect from a top-of-the-line resistive touch screen. Our customized 5-wire resistive technology is an ideal solution for high volume applications that may require versatile input methods. Nelson-Miller’s 5-wire resistive technology can be used in a variety of applications, including the industrial control and equipment markets.

All Nelson-Miller resistive touch screens are available in standard LCD sizes, and are a high reliability technology proven in the POS market (fast food, hospitality, lodging, and vending, among others.) Our touch screens can be used with a gloved finger, bare finger, or stylus, and are pin-out compatible with other touch screen makers. Each 5-wire resistive touch screen supplied by Nelson-Miller is able to tolerate over 10 million touches, and lasts for years to come.

Our resistive touch screens come with an enhanced, scratch-resistant hard coat, providing unparalleled protection against damage. If you’re looking for a touch screen that will provide a fast and accurate response each time it’s used, a customized 5-wire resistive touch panel designed by Nelson-Miller may be the perfect solution.
